'Winds of Fortune'
The materials I have
used are glass powders,
sheet glass, fine metal
wires and parts, which
I somehow fused
together in the kiln.
The work
came to life through
numerous small decisions I made
on the way, never
knowing
ahead which would be
the concluding step.

My work has been influenced
by samples of needlework
undertaken when at
school
using coloured twine and
linen. Fabrics (textiles) inspire me
through their ubiquitiousness, their multiple meanings, functions
and
symbolisms. Their
relationship to time and
aging process inform me
about
civilization and
specifically womanhood.
